Amble Baby Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
Amble Baby is one calm, shared place for a young child’s day. Nannies plan, run and share the day, and parents follow along. This policy explains, in plain words, what information Amble Baby keeps, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it.
Amble Baby is run by Amberlee Prince (“we”, “us”). If you have a question, write to support@amblebaby.com.
The short version
- Only the people in a family’s circle see that family’s plan, journal and care card.
- We don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
- No live location, no performance scoring, no activity monitoring.
- Photos are resized on your phone, and location details are removed before they upload.
- A copy of the care card is saved on your phone so it works offline. It never shows in notifications.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Who uses Amble Baby
Amble Baby is for adults: parents, guardians and nannies or caregivers. You must be 18 or older to make an account. Children don’t use the app, but the app does hold information about children (see “Children’s information” below).
What we collect, and why
Your account
- Your name, and the email address you sign in with. We use these to make your account, sign you in, and show your name to the people in your family’s circle.
- How you sign in: Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email link. We get an account identifier from Apple or Google, and your name and email if you share them. If you use “Hide My Email” with Apple, we only get Apple’s relay address. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- Your phone number, if you add one. Parents can add a phone number so the nanny can call them from the care card.
- A profile photo, if you add one.
- Your notification choices and app settings.
Your family
- The family name (for example “The Smiths”), the family’s time zone, and the starting routine.
- Who is in the circle, and each person’s role (parent or guardian, or nanny or caregiver).
- Invites: the invite code, the role it’s for, and the first name of the person invited, if you add one.
Your child
- First name, last name (from the parents), birthday, and a photo if you add one. The birthday is used to work out your child’s age, so the app can show activity ideas that fit.
The care card
- Allergies, medication, pediatrician, approved pickup, and home address. See “The care card” below.
The day
- Day plans and their blocks (for example “Morning nap, around 9:30 am”), and what happened to each one (done, moved to later, skipped).
- Notes from parents, suggestions, and the nanny’s answers.
- Journal posts: photos, notes, captions, and whether a post is marked as a big moment.
- Reactions and comments.
- The daily sendoff (the summary of the day the nanny sends to the parents).
- Activities the nanny adds, and favorite activities.
We use all of this for one thing: to run Amble Baby for your family. That means showing the plan, the journal and the sendoff to the people in your circle, keeping them in sync between phones, and sending the notifications you’ve turned on.
Subscriptions
Purchases go through Apple. We never see your card number or bank details. Apple tells us which product was bought (Family monthly, Nanny monthly or Lifetime), when it started and ends, whether it’s a free trial, whether it will renew, and a transaction number. We link the purchase to the family it covers so everyone in that family can use Amble Baby.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, your phone gives us a notification token from Apple. We use it only to send the notifications you’ve turned on in Settings, such as “the sendoff is ready”.
Support
If you email us from Help, the email includes the app version, your iOS version and your phone model, so we can help. We keep support emails only as long as we need them to answer you.
What we don’t collect
- Your location. Amble Baby never asks where anyone is. The home address on the care card is text that a parent types in, for emergencies.
- Your contacts, your Health app data, or your photo library. You choose each photo you share, and the app sees only those photos.
- How you use the app. We don’t use analytics or advertising tools. Nobody’s taps or screen time are watched. If you’ve chosen in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports that don’t identify you.
Children’s information
Amble Baby holds information about children: a first and last name, a birthday, photos, the journal, the day plan, and the care card. Children aren’t users of the app and can’t make an account. We don’t knowingly collect information from a child directly.
A parent or guardian adds their child, or a nanny adds them when setting up a family and then invites the parents. Parents and guardians stay in control:
- They can edit the child’s details at any time (Settings › Family).
- They can remove a child, which deletes the child’s days, journal and care card for everyone in the family.
- They can remove someone from the circle, which ends that person’s access at once.
- They can delete the whole family.
We never use a child’s information for advertising, and we never sell it. We don’t score development, and we never suggest age-based milestones.
The care card
The care card holds a child’s allergies, medication, pediatrician, approved pickup and home address. It’s health information, and we treat it with extra care:
- A parent or guardian enters and edits it. Everyone in the family’s circle can read it. Nobody outside the circle can.
- A copy is saved on each circle member’s phone so it works offline, for example on a walk with no signal. That copy is protected by iOS data protection, so it’s only readable while the phone is unlocked. It’s removed when you sign out or delete your account.
- It never appears in notifications.
- The approved pickup list and the pediatrician may include other people’s names and phone numbers. Please only add people who are happy to be on it.
The care card isn’t a medical service. In an emergency, call 911.
Photos
- Photos are resized on your phone before they upload, so they load quickly and take less space.
- Location details (the GPS information many cameras save inside a photo) are removed on your phone before upload. We never receive where a photo was taken.
- Photos are stored privately. They’re never public, and there’s no public link to them. The app opens each photo with a link that only works for a short time.
- Parents can save a journal photo to their own Photos library. Once saved there, it’s theirs to manage.
Who can see what
Each family only sees its own information. A nanny who cares for more than one family sees each family separately, and families never see each other’s journals.
Inside a family:
- Everyone in the circle sees the plan, the journal, the sendoff and the care card.
- The nanny plans and runs the day, posts to the journal, and sends the daily sendoff.
- Parents and guardians read the plan and the journal, react, leave a comment, add notes for the nanny, suggest changes, and edit the care card.
- A parent’s note appears only on the nanny’s Today. It’s never posted to the journal.
- The nanny doesn’t see when a parent has read the sendoff. Reactions are how people say they’ve seen something.
We (the people who run Amble Baby) don’t look at your family’s content, except when you ask us to help with a problem, when we must to keep the service working or secure, or when the law requires it.
Who helps us run Amble Baby
We use a small number of service providers. They handle information only to provide their service to us:
- Apple: App Store payments and subscriptions, Sign in with Apple, push notifications (Apple Push Notification service), and test builds (TestFlight).
- Google: Sign in with Google, if you choose it.
- Supabase: hosts our database, sign-in and photo storage, on servers in the United States.
- Cloudflare: hosts our website (amblebaby.com) and counts visits to it with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you.
- An email service: sends the sign-in and email-change links.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of Amble Baby. If that happens, this policy keeps applying to your information, and we’ll tell you first.
No selling, no ads, no tracking
We don’t sell or rent your information. We don’t show ads. We don’t share your information with advertisers or data brokers, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites. That’s why Amble Baby never asks for permission to track you.
How long we keep things, and deleting them
- Your family’s days, journal and care card stay for as long as the family uses Amble Baby.
- If a subscription ends, nothing is deleted. The family can still read everything, and it all comes back when the subscription is renewed.
- Deleting a post: the nanny can delete their own post. The post, its photos, and the comments and reactions on it are deleted.
- Removing someone from the circle: their access ends at once. Comments and reactions they already left stay, with their first name.
- Removing a child: the child’s days, journal and care card are deleted for everyone in the family.
- Deleting your account (Settings › Delete account): this deletes your Amble account, along with the posts, photos and plans you made, and your comments, reactions and notes. Your families stay for the other members. The copies on your phone, including the care card, are removed.
- Deleting a family (parents only, Settings › Family): everyone loses access at once. The family’s days, journal and care card are deleted after 30 days.
- After something is deleted, it may stay in our encrypted backups for up to 30 more days, until those backups expire.
Amble Baby doesn’t have a data export. If you’d like a copy of your information, write to support@amblebaby.com.
Security
- Everything travels between your phone and our servers over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Our database is encrypted at rest, and its access rules let each person read only the families they belong to.
- Photos are stored privately and opened with short-lived links.
- The copy of the care card on your phone is protected by iOS data protection.
- We give access to our systems only to the people who need it to run Amble Baby.
No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we’ll tell you and explain what we’re doing about it, as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- See and correct your information in the app: your name and email in Settings, your child’s details in Settings › Family, and the care card from the care card button.
- Delete your account in Settings, or a family (parents) in Settings › Family.
- Turn notifications on or off in Settings, or in iOS Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask any question about it, at support@amblebaby.com. We’ll answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example California, or the European Union or the United Kingdom), you may have more rights, such as the right to know, correct, delete or move your information, or to complain to a data protection authority. Write to us to use any of them. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.
A parent or guardian can contact us about their child’s information at any time, and we’ll help them review or delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date at the top. If the change is important, for example a new kind of information or a new way of using it, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
